Hello, Hope that you all are doing Awesome!!! Check out this article regarding the effects of Art on your Brain!
http://upliftconnect.com/art-changes-consciousness/ How Art Changes Consciousness By Jacob Devaney on Wednesday October 14th, 2015 "The blood flow increased for a beautiful painting just as it increases when you look at somebody you love. It tells us art induces a feel good sensation direct to the brain." – Professor Semir Zeki, chair in neuroaesthetics at University College London ![]() I hope as many people who feel inclined can watch this video from Dr. Dyer. The link is provided below. Let me share with you now, my friends close and distant, figuratively and literally. While listening to this presentation from the late great Dr. Wayne Dyer, I have come to some realizations about my purpose. I am meant to bring joy and beauty in this world for everyone and I do it more and more with art. Now that sounds like a very altruistic statement but I will tell you the truth about it is.... As I go about that, I am truly doing it for myself. I know this is the truth because when I do it, when I bring happiness, joy & beauty to the world through something that I have done or created... my heart beams with joy and happiness and beauty. I am my biggest beneficiary. I bring joy, beauty and happiness to the world in a number of ways. Moving through the mundane day in this life I choose my message. Hour by hour, sometimes minute by minute, consciously or unconsciously. Sometimes I do miss an opportunity but on the whole and on better days, I live my life's purpose. I am Mother, Wife, Artist, Healer, Friend. I have learned the art of giving and also the elusive, equally important, art of receiving. I am so thankful and so blessed. I was explaining to a friend last night that my utter joy in art, besides the physical sensation of creation, is commissioned pieces. Yes, I like drawing an awesome owl, or currently Raven, but my super joy is when I can create something very special for someone who is desiring something created for them. Usually a special personal portrait of a loved one or pet but I have also rendered scenic landscapes of places that had special meaning for the person who commissioned the art. Giving that joy, happiness & beauty... being able to create something that special for another and then experiencing their utter joy in receiving what I have created for them. Creating a treasure, is what makes my heart open wide. I'm addicted to it. I can't imagine my life being as full without it. Yes, my art is evolving. I have been playing it safe and probably will keep a similar style for a good bit more... I'm going to grow and change, hopefully for all of my earthly experience and I'm so excited about it. I selfishly encourage you all to take advantage of what my deepest desire is and what I will continue to share. I implore you to assist me. Put me to task. I will love every minute of it. For those of you who have done this for me. I can't say thank you enough. Best Blessings! I hope your day is filled w/opportunity for inspiration! http://www.drwaynedyer.com/iamlight-video1 Hello Everyone!
It's my birthday month and so far I am having an awesome birthday!!! Celebrated this past weekend and plan to celebrate all this month. On my facebook personal page I have decided to celebrate by hosting a "Favorite Pet photo" contest and the pic that a lucky participant uploaded who gets the most likes will win a pet portrait created by yours truly. After this event I am promising myself to create more opportunities hosted from my Facebook Fan Page, which I confess, I have had a big learning curve on figuring out how to use it optimally. To connect to me via my Facebook Fan Page click here - http://www.facebook.com/Chris-Bell-Art-Page-779211205499303/timeline/ Currently, I am figuring out how to link all my social media accounts so that when I post in one place it will get out on all the other areas. This is, of course, proving to be a bit of a challenge since some of the accounts are using different emails when I first signed up for them but I am determined to figure it out. It is quite the puzzle. No one really teaches about this kind of stuff succinctly for my social media challenged brain. Ah... growth! Well, here's hoping that you can hear more from me soon. Best Blessings, Chris http://www.facebook.com/Chris-Bell-Art-Page-779211205499303/timeline/
Newest offering - Digital Design for Business & Projects = Newest addition to the art tool kit4/16/2015 Oh boy, I am so excited! I just invested in an art tablet. I am getting into graphic design and finding that my old tools of fine art (paper/canvas pens/pencils and paint) just don't translate well when making a quality digital design for a business/project client.
My originally wanted to be a graphic design major in college but I went to a local private college that did not offer that as a degree or even a minor. The college I wanted to attend was many states away and who knows about the cost. Well, I have never lost my passion for art, even when it didn't seem like I had very much time to devote to it, and now I find myself touching again on an old favorite graphic design. I am loving connecting with the business/project client and discussing their idea's and their vision. I am using my intuitive/creative side to get those ideas into a manifested design that the client can play with. It's like a bright sparkly thing in the clients mind and then from that I through down the lump of clay and we start to play with it and it takes form and starts to resonate with the clients idea and heart. I am finding I am fairly talented at listening to the clients desires and being able to use my knowledge and talent to assist them arrive at an excellent design for their needs. My goodness there are so many art tablets out there to choose from. Ranging in prices to affordable to very expensive. As I am just starting out with the digital art, I wanted a tablet that was exceptional but at an introductory level price (Ok, even a cheap price but not a cheap device). I researched for about 3 days online learning everything I could about what kind of equipment I would need to do the jobs I was interested in doing. I need a pretty high RAM and 64bit operating system with decent processors to accommodate PhotoShop and in the process I discovered that GIMP Open Source is a free PS-type program and I am definitely checking that out. Long story short, I went with a Motion Computing LE1700 for 300$ on ebay it's touted as the Cintiq alternative for the artist on a tight budget. Will arrive in a few days and I can't wait to play with it and I'll let you know what it feels like. |
